Technology Consultant: providing cross-platform technology consulting services to external customers, including DR/BC, high-availability infrastructure design and upgrade planning, systems integration, and other services. Streamlining and documenting internal business processes, systems and network management, and supporting technical staff. Managing physical and virtual storefront operations, ensuring compliance with state and local government vendor requirements, and improving inventory hardware tracking and testing procedures. Texas A&M University at Qatar (Doha, Qatar)

Chief Systems Engineer: provided technical management of research computing resources including an XServe G5 supercomputing cluster, data storage and backup systems.
Director of Computing Operations: provided executive direction and technical oversight for the computing and network infrastructure of the Texas A&M University branch campus in Doha, Qatar as part of the Qatar Foundation's Education City initiative. Responsible for establishing and maintaining symbiotic relationships with the administrative IT staffs of the various organizations within Education City and the Qatar education community. Texas A&M University (College Station, Texas)

Computer Systems Manager: provided executive direction of all computing resources for the Department of Food Services. Responsible for 150+ Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and AIX desktops and servers, 33 mag-stripe timeclocks, and 55 point-of-sale terminals in 35 facilities scattered across the vast Texas A&M University campus. Notable projects included upgrading the entire POS system to modern touchscreens with a MSSQL backend, upgrading desktops to Mac OS X, working with campus CIS to develop and install secure Wi-Fi in all Food Services facilities, web-enabling internal and external services, and installation and support of electronic video security surveillance systems, both overt and covert. (Jan 1999 - Oct 2003)

City of Bryan, Texas / Bryan Texas Utilities

Network Administrator: provided 24x7 network services and support for all City of Bryan and BTU offices. Part of the team that migrated the Utility Billing System from an aging IBM mainframe to an Oracle RDBMS running on DG/UX. Established the City's first LAN-based connection to the internet. Created and maintained the City's public and intranet websites, and wrote the original interface for BTU Online, which included a custom credit card processing engine for web-based bill payments. Served as technical lead for evaluating, installing, and automating the City's first document imaging system. Coordinated network development and interconnection for local entities such as the Brazos County offices, 911 Emergency Communications District, Brazos County Appraisal District, the City of College Station, Texas A&M University, and others. (Feb 1992 - Dec 1998)

FiveStar Tailored Data Solutions (Bryan, Texas)

Served as a CAD/GIS mapping technician and LAN administrator for a short-term partnership under contract with Shapiro and Watson, attorneys at law (Houston, TX). The project involved building a limited GIS which included MicroStation digital maps containing landbase features and Brazos County Appraisal District property identification tags linked to a FoxPro (dBASE style) database. Developed and supported project-specific code, written for MicroStation CAD software, to facilitate enhanced productivity and rapid turnaround. (1994)
